Over the past 15 years, I’ve had the chance to be involved in Juno Weekend, from St. John’s, Newfoundland to London, ON., and this year back in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It’s always such an honour to be involved in any capacity, and can’t express enough how extra fun this year was!
Getting things started on the March 22nd Friday night, east coast legend Classified was throwing a party at the Toothy Moose, along with guests Choclair, O Sound, and DJ IV. (video below)
Next up Saturday morning was the 3rd Annual Black Music Brunch, hosted by Mel Boogie & Maestro Fresh Wes, and then onto the Saturday night show at the Marquee, featuring local hip hop artists, City Natives, along with the on-fire-right-now, Quake Matthews. (videos below)
Then on Sunday, the big show went down at the Scotiabank Centre, and afterward the livest of all afterparty’s went down at the Marquee, hosted by Skratch Bastid & Kardinal Offishall. Even Nelly Furtado showed up and I got to briefly meet her. (video below)
Like I said, it was a great weekend and I stayed capturing as much of the history as possible!
